This is where fertility yoga can be so unbelievably useful.

Practicing yoga for fertility is one of the best ways you can look after your body, and your mind, whilst ensuring your body receives optimal blood flow, and just the right amount of exercise to promote fertility.

Fertility yoga for a better headspace

Yoga for fertilityOf course, the beauty of fertility yoga is that you’re not just exercising the body and strengthening up the muscles needed a healthy pregnancy, but you also strengthen your mindset muscle.

Your mindset muscle is one of the most important muscles that you ever use, yet tends to be underrated when it comes to fertility and pregnancy.

Reducing stress and promoting a calm, optimistic mindset is well documented to be great for fertility, and can even improve your chances for conception.

With so much uncertainty when you are trying for a baby, you do have the power over how you respond to the stress it creates!

Can I get acupuncture during Stage 4 lockdown at Qi Medicine?

Yes. You can but only if required.

If you know you will suffer significant pain and suffering ( physical or mental) as a result of not attending your acupuncture, then you may attend.

This means only if you really, really need treatment- as in to stay out of trouble.

Otherwise, we ask that you either move to telehealth, or reschedule until Thursday, September 17th onwards.

This has been a clear directive from the DHSS, and one which we are professionally and morally obligated to follow. If you attend your appointment and you do not require this level of care, we may unfortunately be required to turn you away- or face a whopping great fine.

Acupuncture stage 4 Melbourne

Appointments will remain spaced out to reduce crossover of patients in the clinic. We are also maintaining our strict infection control measures.

What is ‘required treatment’?

Under stage 4 restrictions, you are only permitted face to face treatment if the absence or delay of treatment would result in a significant deterioration or change in your functional independence.

This change would be great enough that you’d seek care from your GP, hospital, or another health service.

You may see your acupuncturist to:

  1. Avoid specialist or GP review
  2. Avoid an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation
  3. Avoid hospital admission or emergency department presentation

If you are unsure if you qualify for treatment, please contact reception on (03) 8394 7665 to discuss or email info@qimedicine.com.au.

I’ve already had an appointment booked in, what happens now?

We will be sending out correspondence asking you to confirm your need for treatment ( as a required treatment), or to move to telehealth for everything else.

We can post you out your herbs and supplements, and provide you with a tonne of great resources to keep you happy and well with a 20-minute telehealth session.

If your pain, stress, or injury changes prior to your appointment, and you do require care, please contact us and we can help you book in if appropriate.

How do I make an acupuncture appointment during stage 4 restrictions?

We have disabled online bookings during this time as we can see significant cases, such as emergency sessions.  Instead please contact our reception directly on info@qimedicine.com.au or phone (03) 8394 7665 to discuss your needs.

One of the biggest zappers of energy, motivation and your lust for life, is neck and shoulder pain.

In this video, I show you what to do for neck pain, using a gua sha tool. Now you are probably thinking to yourself- what on earth is gua sha? Well, this is simply the Chinese name for ‘scraping tool’, an ancient device used for instant relief from neck to shoulder pain, neck shoulder pain and headache, or any other muscle tension for that matter.

For neck pain: If you are trying exercises for neck pain relief but this is not quite cutting it, then trying gua sha for neck pain should be your next choice. You can also jump to gua sha facial Melbourne below.

Gua Sha treatment- what do you need?

Neck To Shoulder Pain Relief

For gua sha for neck pain or gua sha for the face, you can simply use a metal spoon out of your kitchen drawer. Traditionally, the Chinese use a ceramic soup spoon, gua sha rose quartz or jade, and it is difficult to know which gua sha tool is best.

I recommend using whatever you have on hand. If you need to wait weeks for your jade stone or rose quartz facial tool to arrive from your online purchase, but you have shoulder and neck pain now, then using a gua sha with a spoon is best.

How to gua sha for neck pain

For neck pain, it is the easiest thing in the world to use a gua sha tool.

  1. Oil to use with gua sha: I recommend my anti-aging serum we use in our cosmetic acupuncture treatments. This stuff is organic, with Chinese herbal extracts which are great for the skin. You can find out more about purchasing this oil from us by contacting us
  2. Rub your gua sha oil on the area you want to treat. You can do gua sha on the neck, shoulders, and gua sha on the face and jaw too.*
  3. Follow the instructions in this gua sha you tube video to get the most out of your gua sha treatment.

I will have a more detailed gua sha facial Melbourne video series coming out shortly, so watch this space!

You can subscribe to Qi Medicine newsletter below to receive updates the very instant this series is released, with amazing natural facial rejuvenation tips, facial yoga, explainers to the meanings behind lines and wrinkles, and facial gua sha guides.

Gua sha facial Melbourne- Does gua sha work?

Gua sha is not just for the neck and shoulders.

gua sha facial melbourneWe use gua sha face benefits for our cosmetic acupuncture clients in our Melbourne clinic. Gua sha works by helping to soften tight muscles, improve blood flow to the skin and muscles of the face, flush away waste products through improving blood and lymphatic flow, and softening deep lines and wrinkles.

A gua sha before and after can be seen as part of cosmetic acupuncture, and many patients report really feeling the knots in their face and forehead being relieved after gua sha! It is a very interesting, but enjoyable experience.

Welcome to the final installment of our facial yoga series, with a focus on sagging eyes and brow lines.

Facial yoga for sagging eyes and brow lines

Sagging eyes are a common problem for lots of folks. Sagging around the top of the eyes, eye bags, and sagging underneath the eyes can cause grief for many of us, and leave us looking for a natural facelift!

Why do we get sagging around the eye area?

In Chinese facial diagnosis, sagging eye areas have special significance.  If you find that you’re getting puffiness or darkness under the eyes, it may mean that you may have concerns with adrenal fatigue or issues with salt or water metabolism.

It is possible that your digestive system or your hormonal system may be in need of a bit of a tune-up, which is something that can be looked at during your consultation for cosmetic acupuncture.

Find out more about our cosmetic acupuncture treatments here

Maybe you are constantly having problems under the eyes?  We recommend that, if this is the case, you have a health assessment (particularly with a Chinese medicine practitioner), to see if there are any pressing health concerns.  This can help us to identify what we may be able to do to assist in fine-tuning your hormonal balance.

Deep lines under the eyes

If you find you’re getting deep lines under the eyes, making your features appear ‘unhappy’ – that can actually be connected with grief, sorrow or loss. These lines can actually be quite significant and may be worth exploring with traditional Chinese face reading.

Puffiness above the eyes

Perhaps you are experiencing drooping, heaviness, and puffiness above the eyes?  These can indicate, once again, an issue with your hormonal metabolism and imbalance that should be explored definitely with a full health assessment.

A loss of muscle tone around the brow and the eyes can happen when sitting at computers for too long looking at screens. It can lead to stagnation and blockage around the eye area because we’re not moving your eyes around as much as we should.

Eye puffiness can also indicate issues with digestion, and in Chinese medicine, it may indicate issues with the spleen.

This is also something that’s worth addressing health-wise because it has the potential to affect your whole body – in fact, your whole system entirely.

Facial exercises to combat sagging, puffiness and brow lines

Try these facial yoga exercises sagging eyes and brow lines to help strengthen the facial muscles and help combat sagging eyes and forehead lines!

As you go through each exercise, remember to breathe and relax after each movement.

Exercise 1: Brow muscle (over the eye)

facial yoga exercises for drooping eyelids The first exercise will help to strengthen the muscles above the eyes. It’s a really good exercise to help reset that brow muscle – which normally is quite locked and fixed.

1.  Put one thumb on each side at the end of your eyebrows, and the other finger just above the middle of the eyebrow, holding both sides.

2.  Create a little bit of resistance down into the fingers from the brow. Holding that

muscle and pulling down, and feeling a good amount of resistance. Feel that brow pushing down, and you’ll feel that the brow muscles will warm up. When you feel the muscle quivering, then you know its working!

If you do this exercise several times and repeat several times a day, you should notice that your eyes just want to elevate and lift.

Exercise 2: Inner brow muscles

facial yoga exercises for drooping lidsThe second eye exercise may assist with droopy eyelids.

1. Place your forefingers on the inner side of each brow.

2. Push up a little into the forehead and then squeeze the brows down, feeling that tension there. You can close your eyes and breathe as you do it.

3. Push and squeeze.

The muscles across the inside of the brows are really strong, so you’ll find you may get a lot of resistance.

This exercise is great in eliminating the frown lines and the ‘elevens’– the lines on the inside of the brows that are developed if you sit and concentrate at a desk all day long  (or if you’re a real thinker / a bit of a worrier).

Exercise 3: Forehead and brow massage

facial yoga exercises for brow linesThe third exercise is for the brow and the eyes.

1.  With your knuckles massage the brow and massage the large area in your forehead.

2.  It is very common for lots of people to have a lot of tension in the brow, and by massaging it with your knuckles, we tend to release a lot of tension.

3.  Swipe out, and if you come across any sore bits, get in there with your knuckles and really work it!

Exercise 4: Upper eyelid and under-eye muscles

facial yoga exercises for sagging eyesThe last little exercise will help brighten and lift up the eyes. This also helps with under the eyes as well.

1.  Place your two index fingers under the eyes and then wrap your lips around your teeth.

2.  Look up and flatten the eyelid whilst brushing your cheeks upwards as you do this.

This exercise strengthens the upper eyelids and also strengthens the cheeks. It helps tone the muscles under the eyes if you’re getting some sagging, wrinkling and puffiness under the eyes.

These super-simple facial yoga exercises are best done a few times a day for optimum results.

Can you get pregnant with PCOS?

The question on the lips of so many Australian women today is can you get pregnant with PCOS?

PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome, affects up to 20% of Australian women and can cause great distress to many couples wishing to fall pregnant.

PCOS is mainly a disease of the hormones, and not so much the ovaries themselves. If the hormone levels associated with PCOS can be brought down or controlled, the ovaries may be able to resume functioning normally.

Each month, we see numerous women seeking acupuncture at our Melbourne Chinese medicine clinic, who are wondering if they can still get pregnant with PCOS.

These women are often seriously worried they will not be able to fall pregnant, as they have often been told by their primary healthcare provider that it will be very difficult to get pregnant fast with PCOS without using fertility drugs.

What’s happening in your body with polycystic ovarian syndrome?

acupuncture for PCOS MelbourneSo there are essentially two types of PCOS disorders, Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (the syndrome PCOS, with associated signs and symptoms), and just CO (Cystic Ovaries, without the other signs and symptoms). We will be focusing on PCOS in this article.

It is important to note that some women may only have a few, but not all, of the health issues normally associated with PCOS.

It is also important to note that you are not growing cysts or tumors (we tend to associate the word cyst with something malignant and scary!). When an ovary is polycystic, it simply means that growing follicles that are trying to ‘pop’ out of the ovary to meet a sperm and essentially make a baby, are not being ejected from the ovary, and are building up inside.

These follicles are not growing properly and are not getting the hormonal messages to be released at the right time; therefore, you are not ovulating when you are meant to.

What is PCOS (Symptoms)

The symptoms of PCOS include excess hair (hirsutism), scalp hair loss, acne, weight gain, difficulties with fertility, increased anxiety and depression and irregular, heavy or infrequent periods.

Insulin resistance and weight in PCOS

Your body secretes more than normal levels of insulin to help regulate your blood sugar, and this higher than normal insulin can interfere with the ovaries’ ability to mature eggs and ovulate. This can also lead to extra weight gain and sugar cravings.

Irregular periods in PCOS:

If you have PCOS, your periods may be ‘irregular’ or be not present at all. In some young girls and, PCOS is a cause of periods failing to commence. Normally, the menstrual cycle is 28 days with one ovulation.

An ‘irregular’ period cycle is defined as either:

  • Eight or less menstrual cycles per year
  • Menstrual cycles are longer than 35 days.

Hair and skin in PCOS:

Excess hair, acne, loss of hair on the head and dark patches of skin

Mood and sleep with PCOS:

Some women experience severe emotional changes including depression, anxiety, anger, and frustration, and have difficulty sleeping.

How polycystic ovarian syndrome affects pregnancy

In PCOS, the extra insulin can promote the production of androgen (like testosterone) hormones in your bloodstream. Both insulin and androgen hormones elevated together can interfere with ovulation.

In addition, luteinizing hormone (LH) which is normally released in a big ‘flush’ during ovulation (an LH surge) doesn’t spike when its meant to. This is because in often in PCOS, LH is high from the beginning for your cycle, and so doesn’t have the chance to spike and encourage the ovaries to ovulate.

Sounds like there is a lot going on, right?

Now you have an idea as to what is going on in the body with PCOS, let’s talk about what you need to do to best manage these wild hormone fluctuations.

What causes polycystic ovarian syndrome?

The cause in Western medicine

In mainstream medicine, the exact cause of PCOS is essentially unknown. There are strong links with family genes, Immediate female relatives (ie daughters or sisters) of women with PCOS have up to a 50% chance of having PCOS.

Also, type 2 diabetes is very common in the families of those with PCOS.

Insulin resistance and lifestyle play a part- if you have a poor diet and are overweight this can be a risk factor for developing PCOS, but you can also develop PCOS if you aren’t overweight.

The cause in Chinese medicine

Can you get pregnant with PCOS

Fortunately for you, there is a clear cause of PCOS in Chinese medicine, and therefore we can treat it according to the presenting disharmony.

PCOS is seen in Chinese medicine as a deficiency of the kidney energies ( Kidney Yang) and damp and phlegm accumulation. This can also appear with stasis of blood ( painful periods, clots and cramping, or just yuck abdominal pain).

Although this explanation won’t mean much to a lot of people, it is an issue we here at Qi Medicine work with frequently in our clinic and for which we have some very clear treatment protocols.

How do we help our clients diagnosed with cystic ovaries?

We work closely with our clients and are effectively a health coach through the process of reaching optimal health.

Whilst taking a Chinese medicine approach to wellness, we also coach them on diet, lifestyle, and support their emotional wellbeing through the healing journey. It is important to have a health practitioner guiding you through your fertility journey, as sometimes it can be a difficult and confusing road.

Although addressing the underlying cause PCOS can take months with weekly treatment, for many, it is a worthwhile investment into their overall health and wellbeing.

Fertility drugs used

best fertility drugs for pcosIt is very common for your GP or IVF clinics to recommend fertility drugs for PCOS. It is important to know that whilst these drugs may help in some cases, they can have some pretty nasty side effects, and even reduce fertility in some instances (I.e. clomid thinning the uterine lining (1).

Some of the common side effects of fertility drugs:

  • Metformin: Lactic acidosis, diarrhea, nausea, nausea and vomiting, vomiting, and flatulence, asthenia, and decreased vitamin b12 serum concentrate.

  • Clomid: thinning of the uterine lining, reduction in fertile cervical mucus, abnormal vaginal/uterine bleeding, breast tenderness or discomfort, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,

  • Letrozole: Hot flashes, hair loss, joint/bone/muscle pain, tiredness, unusual sweating, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, and trouble sleeping

  • Gonadotrophins such as Pregnyl, Puregon, Ovidrel Gonal-F: Mood swings, headaches, breast tenderness, weight gain, vomiting, acne, Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS)

Tips: How to get pregnant with polycystic ovarian syndrome naturally

Here are some of the top ways you can regulate your ovulation naturally, without the use of fertility drugs.

Improve your diet:

Reduce portion sizes, improve the quality of foods, eliminate processed and junk food, include good fats like nuts, olive oil, and avocado, and limit bread, wheat products, and high GI foods.

Boost exercise:

There is much research to suggest that regular exercise 3-4 times per week, combined with a good diet, can help to regulate cycle health, and reduce PCOS symptoms.

Reduce to a healthy weight:

As PCOS is associated with poor insulin regulation (insulin helps you break down sugar in your diet) losing weight can help with the symptoms of PCOS, and cycle regulation.

Reduce stress:

Stress can cause hormonal fluctuations, blood sugar irregularities, and also cause you to go into ‘flight or fight’ mode. When we are stressed, our reproductive system is less likely to be working at optimum, as it perceives our environment as ‘unsafe’.

What about acupuncture?

If you are considering acupuncture for PCOS, here are some of the great effects Chinese medicine can have on your natural fertility:

  • Reduce stress leading to imbalanced hormones (which may cause ovarian cysts)
  • Reduce the pain associated with irregular periods or no ovulation
  • Regulate the stress on the nervous system caused by insulin resistance
  • Help alleviate the fatigue and sluggishness associated with PCOS
  • Be your health coach to guide you on the best diet and exercise choices for your body
  • Educate you on exactly what you need to do to maximise your chances of falling pregnant naturally including charting, male fertility, nutrients, and much more.

So, can you get pregnant with PCOS?

If you are looking to fall pregnant with PCOS without drugs, then helping your body get back into balance with Chinese medicine may be a good option.

At Qi Medicine, our female therapists are highly trained in women’s health and fertility. We understand that infertility with PCOS can be a real struggle and cause a great deal of emotional pain and stress on a relationship. Let us help guide you through the fertility process, and help you be in the best fertility shape possible.

Reviews for facial acupuncture Melbourne.

Looking for online reviews for cosmetic acupuncture MelbourneThen do a search on google!

Cosmetic acupuncture reviews Melbourne

Just always be sure to take any information you find with a grain of salt- as some can be misleading.

In Australia, registered acupuncture therapists are actually not allowed to post reviews or testimonials from their clients on their websites for a good reason- they can be misleading and paint a one-sided picture of results.

This is a great rule handed down by AHPRA, our governing regulatory body, and protects you- the consumer- from making the wrong decision when choosing your cosmetic acupuncture therapist.

So what should you do to find the best cosmetic acupuncture therapist in Melbourne?

Let me ask the question, why are you looking for cosmetic acupuncture reviews in the first place? It is because you want to know if it actually works!

There is so much junk and jargon out there on the internet- especially when it comes to beauty- that you need some hard evidence that this would work for you and help your health rather than hinder it.

To find a cosmetic acupuncturist in Melbourne that suits your needs, its best to follow these two steps:

1. Read their website

Carefully read through the qualities of the treatment they offer. Does it address your specific concerns, such as acne or sagging?

Different therapists have different training backgrounds and therefore areas of expertise, so it is important to pay attention to the details of their website.

(To read our page on cosmetic acupuncture, follow this link here…)

2. Book in for an exploratory initial consultation and treatment

Sometimes, you can only get so much information on a website, and you really need to try before you buy.

The good news is cosmetic acupuncture is relaxing and relatively painless, and you always feel rejuvenated afterward.

You also get the captive attention of your cosmetic acupuncturist, to ask as many questions as you like, before you decide to go ahead with a treatment package.

(To book on your initial cosmetic acupuncture session with one of our Chinese medicine doctors, head to our booking page here)

What results can I expect from a course of cosmetic acupuncture?

facial acupuncture Melbourne

A full course of treatment with cosmetic acupuncture is 12 sessions, weekly in succession.

We pick two areas of concern that have been bothering you and get to work on those areas through the treatments with facial needles.

You receive a wealth of tools and resources to boost your results (facial yoga exercises, dermal rolling, skincare, lifestyle and diet changes) and if you combine these with your regular acupuncture and jade stone massage, amazing things can happen.

At Qi Medicine in Melbourne, some of the many benefits of a course of cosmetic acupuncture:

  • Reduction in your physical, mental and emotional stress
  • Reduction in your physical pain symptoms
  • Relaxation of your facial muscles which may be leading to premature aging and wrinkle formation
  • A reduction in your stress levels leading to hormonal imbalances, break-outs, and skin imperfections
  • An improvement in the symptoms of your fatigue and poor energy
  • A skin care plan tailored to your needs
  • Reduced sagging and a boost in collagen and elastin with dermal rolling treatments

…and so much more.

The benefits of cosmetic acupuncture can be many, and you will often notice extra unexpected benefits arise during their course of treatment.

The final word on facial acupuncture reviews in Melbourne

Cosmetic acupuncture is such a personal, subjective treatment.

What works for you, may not be the best solution for another.

Instead of relying solely on reviews, do your research on your therapist of choice, and book in for your preliminary session.

This is the best and the only way you will know if natural facial rejuvenation will support you and your health and skincare needs.

Today’s post about acupuncture for the face is written by Dr. Angela Koutsofrigas, a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner and one of our talented staff members at Qi Medicine.

Why try acupuncture on your face?

Understanding what acupuncture can do on your face is made easier by looking first at Chinese face mapping and facial meridians.

Within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), energy is known as Qi. More recently, Qi has been identified in scientific terms as the ‘piezoelectric current’ of the body.

facial acupuncture Melbourne

This current runs along our meridian pathways, also known as the ‘meridians’ or ‘channels’ in Chinese medicine.

There are 12 main meridian pathways in TCM, each representing a major organ system. Many of these channels start or end on the face.

In addition to meridians, you can see in our face mapping diagram below, the stomach, small and large intestine, kidneys, bladder, heart, liver and reproductive organs all have a corresponding area on the face.

How your face reflects your health

Our skin is our largest organ and the canvas we display to the world.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, our face is a map of our internal organ system. Simply put, this means that whatever is going on with our internal body will show up on our face. This is especially true when we have prolonged internal imbalances.

what does acupuncture do on your face

An example most of us can relate to is having dark circles under our eyes when we haven’t had enough sleep (kidney area).

Referring to the face map, we can see the area under the eyes is governed by the kidneys. According to Chinese medicine theory, our kidneys are the gate of our vitality. Insufficient sleep disrupts the body’s innate capacity to renew itself, which is why we might wake up looking tired with dark circles under our eyes.

What about acne?

Acne commonly appears on a part of the face that corresponds with the organ system responsible.

For example, if acne appeared on your cheeks, which according to face mapping is represented by the stomach pathway, one of our Chinese Medicine Practitioners would know to address your digestive health.

How acupuncture on the face helps

Facial acupuncture may increase blood flow to the face and ensures it gets nourished with the oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood.

The cosmetic acupuncture we provide at Qi Medicine can also help promote healthy ageing of your skin. By using acupuncture in combination with dermal roller techniques and jade stone massage, we may be able to help you reduce the stress on the skin associated with premature ageing.

The Hidden Emotions In Your Face: The Meanings Behind Lines And Wrinkles

Step by Step Instructions For Using Your Home Dermal Roller.

Welcome to the third installment of our facial yoga series! Today we’ll be focusing on facial yoga exercises for your cheeks, middle of the face, lower eyelids and mouth.

Facial yoga for the cheeks and eye bags

In my daily practice, common complaints I hear about the cheeks and middle of the face include sagging, volume loss, jaw tension, and fine lines around the cheeks. All of this can be combated with facial yoga! Facial yoga can also be used in conjunction with cosmetic acupuncture to get the most from your treatments.

Within traditional Chinese face reading, the cheek area can represent the lungs and grief, sadness and loss. If there is hollowness forming in the cheeks, it can indicate underlying emotional issues that need to be resolved. It can also indicate undernourishment – not eating the right foods or being able to nourish yourself in the way that you’d like.

Try these facial yoga exercises to help plump up your cheeks, boost and strengthen the facial muscles, and give your face a nice, warm glow.

As you go through each facial yoga exercise, remember to breathe and relax after each movement.

Exercise 1: Lower Cheek & Top Lip

Facial yoga for cheeks, facial yoga Melbourne

  • Place your two index fingers just below the outside of the edge of the nose. Keep your fingers firm and hold your muscles.
  • Push your lips down, in a shape similar to a pucker, resisting the pressure of the index fingers pressing down on your lower cheeks.
  • Repeat this 20 times to complete the exercise. For the best results, do this exercise a few times a day.

Exercise 2: Cheeks & Lower Eyelids

Facial yoga for cheeks, facial yoga MelbournePlace your index fingers just below your eyes and your thumbs just below your cheeks.

Smile.

Squeeze and resist the pressure of your cheeks wanting to go up with your fingers.

Repeat this 10-15 times. Do this exercise a few times a day.

Exercise 3: Cheeks, Ears, Temporomandibular Joint and Temporalis Muscle

Facial yoga for cheeks, facial yoga MelbournePlace your palms on your cheeks.

Sweep up. Push the fasciae up – as if you are giving yourself a facelift.

On one side of your face: push up around the ears, right from the cheek area, right into the temples and push away.

Swap to your other side.

Move in big circles over your temporalis muscles. Sweep up into the head.

Do some head work on the fascia and head muscles.

Do a little work on the neck, as it all connects with the face.

And that’s it—simple! Don’t forget to do these exercises a few times a day for best results.

At Qi Medicine Acupuncture Melbourne, one of the gems in our treatment offerings is cosmetic acupuncture, a natural facial rejuvenation alternative. And we have adjusted our cosmetic acupuncture pricing, to make it even more affordable.

For those of you who don’t know, cosmetic acupuncture is a health-focused skin therapy, designed to take a holistic approach to healthy skin and ageing.

And we are so pleased to announce that after putting our heads together and figuring out how we could deliver more value to you, we came up with something special.

What are the changes?

We have now been able to increase the quality time spent in a session to 75 minutes.

Cosmetic acupuncture pricing MelbourneThis extra time can go on either focusing on internal health imbalances, treating problem areas of the face and neck, performing a beautiful ‘gua sha’ jade stone massage, or treating you to the extra nice head and neck massage and stretch at the end.

In addition, we have also been able to reduce the cost of a full cosmetic acupuncture session with skin needling or dermal rolling ( find out more about dermal rolling here).

We know this will make a huge difference to those of you that love cosmetic acupuncture but struggled with completing a whole course due to financial concerns.

How good is that?

Ok, are you offering the cheapest cosmetic acupuncture in town?

Of course, if you compare cosmetic acupuncture pricing with other acupuncture clinics, you’ll notice we are not the most expensive, but nor are we dirt cheap.

Instead, we focus on value and quality. You want to see results, and we know what needs to be done in order to achieve cosmetic acupuncture results.

What extra value do you provide?

Dr. Sheena treating a womans face with acupunctureWhen comparing us on price, ensure you make sure you are getting:

  • A free take-home dermal roller (skin needling roller) included in a package
  • A 20-minute jade stone facial focusing on congestion, circulation and muscle tightness
  • A head and neck reflexology session
  • Sessions focusing on internal health conditions that may be contributing to premature ageing (i.e stress, pain)
  • A goodie bag including a silicone night repair kit, plus organic skincare, with a package

How many cosmetic acupuncture sessions will I need?

Ideally, we recommend a course of 12 sessions weekly to receive the full benefits of treatment.

Because we are working so much deeper than just on the surface of the skin, time is needed to promote positive changes in the body that will show in the skin. We like to think of it as slow beauty.
